This chiller is approximately 25 feet of 3/8" copper tubing with metal garden hose fittings both female and male that are completely soldered into place eliminating any leaks and the potential bursting that is often associated with vinyl tubing that is clamped on with other models of immersion coils. No one wants a burst hose spraying non sterilized water into your wort ruining your beer. You do not want the vinyl tubing near the boiling wort as the high temperatures will significantly weaken the tubing. This is the best model available on the market! Soldered fittings will never leak. Compression fittings found on other styles of immersion coils tend to expand and contract with the drastic temperature fluctuations during the boiling and cooling processes. This expansion and contraction will loosen the compression fittings and cause you to leak unsanitized cooling water into your hot wort. You just worked hard to make your wort, you don't want to contaminate because of a loose fitting. The soldered fittings are solid and secure and will loosen as the compression fittings do. Came as described. I do my brewing in my kitchen and use my kitchen sink, so I had to buy and piece together adapters to go from my kitchen faucet to the garden hose connections on the chiller, but once connected it worked as described. Only complaint is that it came with a hose clamp to hold the vertical sections together, and when I tried to adjust them, there was a very slight amount of scratching from where it was originally.

Well for the price, I was very excited but was thinking there must be a catch. Based on the reviews I decided to go for it. Overall its well made except for one inconvenient flaw. Instead of engineering the tubing in a way where the garden hose attachments meet in the same place (like the picture), they are on opposite sides. I guess while manufacturing they made the loops too big, reached 25 feet, realized it wouldn't make it all the way around and decided to solder it at the half way point. So it is difficult, if not impossible, to hold it with one hand. Perhaps they're not all this way and I was the unlucky guy who got the lemon. Bottom line it's worth it for the price, but make sure when you order that you ask them to give you one where the fittings meet.

I have used the chiller a couple of times. The chiller is dwarfed by my 35 quart potPrime Pacific Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Stock Pot with Lid, 35-Quart. The small size was concerning at first, but quickly proved to not be an issue. I was actually able to stir the wort gently with the chiller to speed up the cooling process.
My only concern is that the hose fittings are soldered on. I think I would have rather had compression fittings for this to make it easier to maintain. The soldering is tasked with holding the weight of the hoses full of water when in use. It has NOT caused issues yet and that is why I gave it 4 stars. If it does break or leak a little manual labor and new fittings would easily extend the life.
I would readily recommend this to anyone who brews regularly. If you are chilling more than 5 gallons or brewing for more than your own friends and family you may want to go with something a little bigger or another style of chiller.
Overall I am happy with my purchase and it serves my needs as an amateur home-brewer.
